Programming HomeLink®

Wireless Control Sys= tem

NOTE:  Some vehicles may require the igni= tion to be turned on or to the second (or “accessory”) position for programming and/or operation of HomeLink.  It is also recommended that a new battery be replaced in the hand held transmitter of the device being progra= mmed to HomeLink® for quicker training and accur= ate transmission of the radio frequency.  Please make sure that people and objects are out of the way of the moving door or gate when programming to prevent potential harm or damage.

  1. For the first time progra= mming, press and hold the two outer HomeLink butt= ons releasing only when the HomeLink indicator light beg= ins to flash after 20 seconds.  = (Do not perform this step when programming the additional HomeLink buttons.)

  1. Position the hand-held transmitter 1-3 inches away from the HomeLink surface (located on your visor, overhead console or mirror) keeping th= e HomeLink indicator light in view.

  1. Using both hands, simultaneously press and hold both the desired Ho= meLink button and hand held transmitter button.  DO NOT release until the HomeLink indicator light flashes slowly and then rapidly.  When the indica= tor light flashes rapidly, both buttons may be released.  (The rapid flashing indicates= the frequency signal has been learned.)

Note:  Some gate operators and garage door openers may require = you to replace step #3 with the “cycling” procedure noted in the “Gate Operator and Canadian Programming” section.

  1. Press and hold the progra= mmed HomeLink button and observe the indicator light.=

·        If the indicator light is solid/continuous, program= ming is complete and your device should activate when the H= omeLink button is pressed and released.

·        If the indicator light blinks rapidly for 2 seconds and then turns a solid/continuous light, proceed with the following programming instructions= for a rolling code device.  A seco= nd person may make the following steps quicker and easier.  As a safety precaution, DO NOT stand on your vehicle.  Use a stepladder or other stable, safe device.

  1. At the garage door opener receiver (motorhead unit) in the garage, l= ocate the “learn” or “smart” button (usually near wh= ere the hanging antenna wire is attached to the unit).  If there is difficulty locati= ng the training button reference the garage door opener’s manual, visit= our website www.homelink.com or c= ontact us at 1-800-355-3515.

  1. Press and release the “learn” or “smart” button (the name and color = of the button may vary by manufacturer)  Note:  Once the button is presse= d, there are 30 seconds in which to initiate the next step.

  1. Return to the vehicle and= firmly press and hold the programmed HomeLInk but= ton for two second and release.  Repeat the “press/hold/release” sequence up to 3 ti= mes to complete the training process.&nbs= p;
